Mercury Free, ECO Power Saving, Computer Monitor
So right now you are staring at your computer screen, reading this post, and you are completely unaware the impact that your computer screen has on the world. Well you may not be completely unaware, you may be wondering what can I do the next time I need a new computer monitor? I give the LCD monitor.
Green innovations in technology continue to spread and we are beggining to see the spread in the actual market place. E-waste is a massive issue in North America, see our video section here on a brief video of E-waste, and you may be wondering what step you can make in your next computer purchase. A good option is an the new LCD monitor containing no mercury, commonly found with LCD and CFL’s, also contains an eco-feature. When the “Auto EcoView” feature it activated, a luminance sensor will automatically adjust the backlight, further saving power and increasing visual comfort. These features add up to a 28% power saving over the previous model of this screen which used a CCFL backlight, and there’s no mercury, which is a big problem with e-waste.
